Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th, 1980) was an American actress, singer and dancer. Her early Broadway roles included Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. The role she played on stage in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel earned her an award for the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actor in a Play. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford has spent her career working alongside renowned actors and directors in the stage, film and TV and she will continue that project with various upcoming ones. Ashford is next seen opposite Kumail Nannjiani as part of Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited Series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford's current film is Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust and he will be starring with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film is a Hulu Original and will be streamed via Disney DTC. Ashford will be returning in 2023, and will be starring opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will direct the production. Ashford has been seen most recently in the role of Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. The show centers around the National Crisis, which saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp as the central figure in the country's First Impeachment Proceedings over a Century. She was in two seasons of the hit CBS comedy B Positive. The show was created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre it also featured legendary performers Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No no stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her portrayal of Essie in You Can't Take It with You. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde is among her other Broadway performances. Ashford is from the city of Denver origins native, and now splits his time between Los Angeles.
