Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in France's Puy-de-Domme on August 9 1976 the youngest among four kids. Since a young age, both her dental surgeon parents and her teacher mother encouraged her passion of theatre and drama. The passion for theater was the one that trumps her first desire to become a an animal scientist. Her rise to fame as an actress in her early years was quick and marked by early success. When she finished her education, she participated in the French television show that scouts talent Jeunes Premiers that was sponsored by Canal+. She won the Most Outstanding Young Actress prize at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors in the year 2000. She then began a acting career. Tautou was educated at Institut Catholique de Paris, attended church when she was a child and was brought up Catholic. She has now distanced herself with the Catholic tradition. Apart from her acting profession, she has is also pursuing modelling. She modelled in the commercials for L'Oreal Mont Blanc, Chanel and has been referred as "The Chanel Muse". Apart from her acting work she is also interested in photography. The actress recently showed some images at the Arles Film Festival, under the name Superficial. Her photography is focused on celebrities, fame and the media that scrutinised her after her fame-making debut with Amelie. Also, she has numerous photographs of her self. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom as well as international recognition with her first major role starring as the lead in The Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Pouulain. Amelie received international acclai film box office successes and received acclaim at awards ceremonies all over the world. It's also the biggest French film in the history of French language to be made to be released in the US. Following this success Tautou starred in a wide range of film productions ranging from British dramas like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's film Un long Sunday de fiancailles and moving into Hollywood with Ron Howard's direction of The Da Vinci Code, a Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
